Ironically those were only sold to the public. I suppose marked war finish because no chrome allowed
1949 production. Morris Pendleton's last ditch effort to try to appease Plumb. It did not have the desired effect. You can read more in the 'Lawsuit Research' thread. See Index in Sticky.most of the Plomb stuff I'm finding says PLOMB and PROTO

Something I was inspired to collect. I have been meaning to post them for a while. I collected a number of these tools, and wanted to do little comparison/discussion. After years of tool collecting and tons of sales, I have never seen a single one locally. :shocking: Maybe that helped to...www.garagejournal.com

Square cornerFINALLY, a nice place to store my meager collection of Plomb.
I had to take everything out of the background so that @Smokeshow69 couldn't snoop around.

Found on Marketplace. And not really close. Had been listed for ‘over a week’ when I found it.Square corner. Very nice find! How/where did you find it? So cool!

I believe that is the lowest serial number currently on that thread. So cool! And glad you were able to talk him down on price. I don’t think you are the cheapo on hereFound on Marketplace. And not really close. Had been listed for ‘over a week’ when I found it.
Messaged right away and was prepared to make the drive that day (Monday). I negotiated the price way down in typical cheap *ss UNAIU fashion. Dude worked second shift and he was kind enough to mark it sold pending and we made plans for Friday.
2.5hr drive each way.

Well, that last part isn’t true. They make A LOT of bourbon in that county. Seriously. I drove past a ton of distilleries.
Based on the other boxes and serial numbers I’ve seen here and in the Pressteel thread, seems like I have bragging rights on the lowest serial number.

I took a ton of pictures for your Pressteel thread. I’ll post them after the game.

Nice box grab!I finally picked up a home for my giant midget set! It’s for a 3/8” set originally, but it has no part number on the lid, so I can pretend it’s the elusive 4796 box. I’m even considering making some dividers for it to mimic that box. Here’s the set all nestled away With a few extras. Just missing the 4704 wiper socket and the 4768 flexible spinner.

That is so cool! Is that the one that was on ebay a couple months ago? That was the first one I had ever seen

That came out awesome. What did you use for the dividers? Flashing? And spot welds? Very nice.

You can always offer less.I agree! My Plomb tools currently live in an old Craftsman box that is pretty much full. This box would be perfect... if only it was half the price. I'm a low-budget collector. I'll bet someone grabs it. The seller listed it as Plumb though, so a "Plomb" search won't pull it up.
