Came across this nice early 1930's set last month at an estate sale. It was tucked away underneath some other items in the garage. I've quickly browsed a few catalogs, but am not sure if all the pieces are accounted for.IMG_1494.JPG

heres a weird one i just got. i thought it was a midget box when i bought it, but appears to be a 3/8 drive box. im thinking war time, even though square corners based on the font and paint. its huge. no part number.

Hit up a swap meet today. Found some stuff but only 3 Plomb pieces today. This combo and this small screwdriver and this cad plated socket for $6 total. I am pretty stoked about the screwdriver

Today, I made a crude little detent replacement for the ratchet I found/shared back in August. I just used a piece of a 3/8" bolt.

I did not counter bore it, as Provincial suggested, but may make a better one someday. This one is a bit short, but it works okay. I used the weakest spring of the three. There is a bit of play in the lever, so it lets the plunger stick up a bit.

The USPS lady delivered my latest acquisition for my Plomb post-war veteran set.

This was a pebble design 3018 DOE. Cute little thing isn't it?

This is the first that has come up online in over a year, possibly longer since my sold records only date back that far. It is also just about the only one I've seen documented online other than two or three other occurrences. Several Plomb collectors that I have been buying from flat out told me they had never seen a pebble 3018 before so I feel pretty lucky. I'm getting close to finishing this set, but now I've hitting some of the harder to find items. I'm quite sure I'll never find a Plomb 1370 plastic face hammer.

Here is is next to a BIC lighter and the other hard-to-find pebble wrench in my set, the 1212.
