Instructional video produced by The Plomb Tool Company of Los Angeles.

Found this on youtube, searched and did not see that it had been posted. Very informative, a good refresher, has comical moments.

Enjoy!

Wow, great gem of a find. All great info with exception they left out 3/8" drive.

I'd love to have all those monster-sized wrenches, sockets, and L handles (ie fixed "breaker" bar . . . more like tire iron bar). Those all would make nice tool box of SAE tools anyway !!

Need SURVEY of GJer's . . . . any with 4 pt and 8 pt socket sets of Plomb ??

What's sad is likely most high school kids couldn't name half of those tools.

Thanks for sharing OP . . . . I'll Pay It Forward sharing with my son and his other high school friends.

I remember seeing that video a long time ago, but still great to see again. I liked the part about just using oil to lube the ratchet and not to use grease...

I'm in high school and when I wear this Craftsman shirt the color of the King Seeley line that has the Craftsman logo and "guaranteed highest quality" somebody always reads the shirt and asks,"what's Craftsman?"

It shocks me every time

^ ^ You're way ahead of the curve Scimonetti !! When "those guys" inherit their dad's collection of Plomb, Craftsman, Proto, etc tools and are having a garage sale . . . . you're going to cleanup big time as they are clueless !! :D

Speaking of Plomb I ordered a bunch of the pebble wrenches on Ebay. I have actually used these quite a bit. The open ends are still very tight and the box ends are thinner wall than any other wrench I have seen. I recommend these if you are into old wrenches.

Thanks! I hope so. I will say that rolling up to a garage sale on your bike right at 8 gets you some pretty good deals too:lol_hitti

Glad that all are enjoying the video, I've watched it three times since finding it. It says at the beginning that this is "part 1". I've searched for "part 2" but have not had any luck yet. If anyone else finds anymore of these old videos, please be sure to post a link.

Cheers!

KZ: thanks for finding that video. there was something on the screen about Oklahoma historical society that somebody better at Googling might be able to find more videos on this and others.

i did say I cringed a little when the guy purposely broke that one inch Plvmb socket on the edge of the bolt.

definitely learned a thing or two and thanks for sharing. for one i'm looking for that old tool box that i haven't seen before.

Inverted Socket..... I love it.

You would think back then everyone would know these things before the enlisted. I guess not.
