plumber for main water line replace queens ny

Any referral recommendations - i am remotely trying to assist my mom, the city gave her notice the main water line was leaking and we need to have a licensed plumber fix it. Any references in queens ny by im or forum post would be appreciated.

try home advisor, wont cost a penny to use , they somewhat check lic. and if there's a problem they do help to negoitate

See if the city can refer someone. We have a list of approved contractors here. They must know who does the majority of the repairs in the area.

As Bob275 mentioned, check with the building inspector. They may reluctant to give one name, but will usually give you 3-4 that they have had good dealings with. Sometimes it helps "moving things along" if the inspector knows the plumber and has inspected his work before.

Thanks guys - turns out my dad kept every home receipt and a 1987 repair on that water line was in the file and the company answered the phone when i called .

Yes sirree, that time of year where old IP lines are popping left and right! If the city shuts it off at the stop box abruptly, check with your regional/state public utility commission and the policies in place. Normally a leak that happens in the thaw is unplanned and there should be a grace period and deadline negotiated to be repaired.

$2800 plus tax.. they need permits to work in street and need to redo asphalt afterwards. I never knew details of who had to trench/fill. Apparently it can be private - non city. The company billing is hi tech , sending a DocuSign contract by email. technology is hitting all the trades, my dentist 3d printed my crown last week.
