I am replacing this gray plastic angle stop because its leaking.
The 1/2" male end connected to the supply from the wall.
Supply is 3/8 pex with what appears to be a 3/8 pex to 1/2" something ( compression, idk)?
From the wall the pex has a female nut like for a compression fitting.
Not sure if its compression or IP type.
I want to install a 1/2" pipe ****** and then a new angle stop which is 1/2 fmp to 3/8 compression for the faucet flex line and the angle stop also has a 1/4" compression for the refrigerator.
If yhe supply nut is in fact compression would it seal on MIP?

You can buy compression style shut offs or push to connect. Home Depot sells them.

I'd be tempted to T off of the existing water line and install a braided line to the fridge, unless I'm misunderstanding what is going on.

hard to tell from the pic but it is most likely a compression . if you want a pipe thread I would get a 1/2" pex X 3/8 NPT M and add a 3/8 NPT X3/8 compression angle stop .
Those valves are beyond the cheapest of cheap. I'd be replacing any others int he house asap .
you are sure yo have 1/2" Pex? it looks like 3/8 judging by the picture

Yeah pics don't always tell the whole story.

I have hot and cold supply to this garage sink.
Under that sink was a reverse osmosis unit which has been decommissioned.

This reverse osmosis fed back to the house for the refrigerator and ice maker.

Being that the RO unit is disconnected it is just a T feeding off of the cold supply at the garage sink.
Sans tearing out walls to redo the refrigerator supply plumbing it is what it is.

What is the outside diameter of the PEX inlet? 1/2" or 3/8"? Believe it varies by type. If it's 1/2" outside diameter and you want to use compression fitting believe you need a 1/2" nom compression to 3/8 compression angled stop. You would need 3/8 nom compression by 3/8 compression if outside diameter of your PEX is 3/8 but it doesn't appear to be that based on pic.

But why use compression and not just get a valve that can be crimped onto the supply?

It looks like this is what's on there now (but plastic)

That's what confuses me on plumbing fittings. Just because it's a size it may not be that size.

On the on above that you posted it says 1/2" compression , but will that fit 3/8 PEX ?
In my pics above the old gray plastic valve and it's nut are the same size as a 1/2" IP thread yet they work on the 3/8 PEX supply from the wall. They also have a plastic ferrel inside the nut.
They appear to be the same type used on the PEX manibloc I have. 3/8 PEX but the threads are similar to 1/2" iron pipe.

As far a crimping on a fitting it is a tight fit under the cabinet. My crimper is a long handle type and it is also at another location 40 miles away. I suppose I could buy a pincher type and rings though.

No idea. Whatever 3/8 PEX B is.
Personally I would just replace the present fitting with a new one that does not leak :) Leave the other stuff alone.
Well I couldn't find that type valve at the hardware store here in town. I bought a different compression fitting and was going to adapt to male IP .
After cutting off the fitting the new one won't fit. It says pex but I think its more for poly pipe or tubing.

Yes it seems to be 1/2" IPS.
I bought a 1/2x1/2 od stop.
1/2" compression to 1/2" mpt.
Seems to be working!
