Plumbing question - removing a shower and closing the drain

We are relocating out shower. My question is, I"m told it's ok to leave the trap in beneath the floor and cement a cover over it. Do we need to remove the trap?

I would at least cut out the trap and cap it. You must be ripping up the floor why not take it back to the branch ?

I agree. Get rid of as much of it as you can, then cap it.
