Plumbing shop airlines into compressor

I am running some airlines in my shop from my compressor. I have a 29 gallon vertical compressor from Harbor Freight. I am curious how you guys are tying into the compressor. I know the larger compressors have a bung on the side or top to use. This one has a larger bung where the pipe connects from the pump, and threaded ****** that the regulator assembly attaches to, Not sure what thread, but not npt. My question is, do I "tee" into the fitting the regulator is attached to, "tee" into the bung where pump pipe attaches, or just tie into the 1/4" fitting coming off the regulator? I am piping over to a hose reel and will just be using for general air use in a home garage, no painting, blast cabinets, or big impacts.

Simplest is likely best especially as you don’t have any high demand uses planned.
You’ll have to have some flex before the piping anyway, I would just make up a short length of hose with a QC to plug into the provided connection after the regulator.

If you needed higher flow, you could remove the regulator and connect there but it’s probably still a 1/4”.
Btw: the second pic shows the tank inlet which is a check valve assembly. Don’t tie any piping in there as the head pipe (compressor-to-check) only sees pressure when the pump is running, it does not see tank pressure.

My old compressor of that size I just pulled the regulator out, put a quarter turn ball valve in, and then used hose out to my air system...regulator was at the drop instead. Had a drain valve before the regulator to empty the lines after turning off the valve on the tank.

Agree. might un plumb it and move the reg right to the reel. take it off and screw 25 ft of hose in between, put it in a good spot. As was suggested wouldnt be against a ball valve as a disconnect.

I have a similar compressor to yours. I removed the regulator and plumbed it directly to my 1/2" diameter shop lines using adapters.
