I am adding a garage and want to add a sink, there will be a crawl space next to the footing for the garage that goes under the house where water and drain lines exist, is adding a drain and sleeve to run water lines in the footing the way to go? I don't plan on doing the plumming right now but at some point in the future so want to have it ready when I want to put all the pipes in place.

Thanks for any help, Kerwin

Doesn't answer your question, but sparked a memory and I thought I would share. My neighbor Walt lived a couple doors down. He was in hes sixties and I was in my thirties. Had a really nice garage with a lot of specialty tools. He had a fridge in the garage that was fully loaded with nothing but beer. His garage was about 12 feet from the house. Anyways, Walt would loan me anything he had for the asking, but he wouldn't let me leave the garage unless I had at least one beer with him. In the middle of a project it would be hard to get a tool from him because after drinking a beer, I am just not motivated to work anymore.

Anyways, Walt's garage was about ten feet from the house. His wife had a rule that shoes would not be worn in the house under any circumstances:bowdown: . (I can relate because my wife has the same rule:mad: ) As you can probably figure, he drank a lot of beer. Taking off his shoes to enter the house when ever he had to take a leak wasn't gettin' it. :headscrat So Walt busted through the concrete in the corner of the garage floor. :shocking: He took a post hole digger and dug a hole about 6 inches in diameter about 3 or 4 feet deep. He put some rocks in the bottom of it and the a section of pvc pipe, with a funnel on the end. He ran a garden hose through the window with a nozzle on it and it hung on a nail just above the funnel. When ever he had to take a leak, he would just piss in his funnel. He would then use the nozzle to rinse the funnel out. It worked out great for him because he never had to enter the house! I could never smell anything, so evidently the hose worked. Sadly Walt passed on about 8 or 9 years ago. :(

Although his idea worked quite well for him, if I ever have a garage built plumbing will definitely be part of the equation!

My dream garage plumbing includes a urinal bolted up, even if I have to have a storage tank with a pump to empty it every so often. Now that the garage is going to have to be built detached from the house, I'm not sure I'll be able to run a drain line underground and still be high enough for drainage, we'll see. I guess i could run into the main line with the help of a real plumber. Would be nice to have sink, shower, kitchen out there. I'd never have to leave!
