Plyworx Pliers rack...anyone using these?

Was noticing tonight how full my pliers drawer is. Drawer footprint is completely used up, starting to have pliers lying on top of others, etc. If I move my pliers from a shallow drawer to a deep drawer, these pliers racks might make sense. Storing pliers on edge is much more space efficient than storing them flat.

Just curious if anyone here has used these,

and if so, what's your opinion of them. I've got a KRA2411,

so these would go in a 30" x 24"ish drawer. I see Plyworx offers 30" and 18" versions, I could mount 1 30" rack against the back of the drawer, or 2 of the 18" racks on each side.

Thoughts?

I just need to find a place that sells these and the Ernst socket organizers at a good price so I can save on shipping.

Then my tool box will have room for more tools!!

I'm in the same boat as you. I see Northern Tools sells them for $20, if you have a store around you. Unfortunately I don't have a Northern Tool anywhere near me so now it's onto finding the cheapest shipping if a can't find it local somewhere else. I'm pretty sure I've settled on where I'm going to purchase my Ernst socket racks from.

I have two in my box as well. I used to lay them flat in a shallow drawer but this is MUCH better use of space and looks cleaner and easier to find what I'm looking for. I would get two if I were you and put one on each side. That's how mine are. You'll have to put them in the lower deeper drawers.

I ended up picking up 2 of the 30" models, and 2 of the 18" models (as I didn't know how I'd want to use them in my box). I ended up putting one of the 30" models across the back of my box. I've pretty much filled it up (have a few "small" pliers double-parked in the slots), and I must say, I LOVE it.

Until purchasing the rack, I was doing the whole "lay 'em flat / piled on each other in a shallow drawer" thing. I moved the pliers to a deep drawer, installed in the rack, and it's GREAT. The pliers seem to stay put (even when I wham the drawer a little hard), they take up MUCH less space now, and it just looks a lot cleaner.

I don't think my 24" deep box is deep enough for 2 30" racks (1 front / 1 )back. I'm not really sure I want to go with the two 18" side to side, either, as that really only gives me 6" more "rack space" than my existing 30" at the rear. We'll see what I figure out.

I bought mine from erisautomotivetools.com. The 18" rack was $7.38, the 30" is $12.08.

That's the cheapest I could find them online, and I purchased multiples to try to make shipping worthwhile. I figured I could sell the ones I didn't want to the guys at work to recoup costs (if I didn't like them), and so far I've been right.

Anyway, a big +1 on the pliers rack from me. That being said, I'm not too sure I wouldn't have tried the "cut down wire shelf from Lowe's" route, if I had known about it first. Either way, the idea behind the storage is great.

Was going thru a few flea markets and area vintage markets and came across someone selling old-skool used rubber dipped wire audio casette holders. They are a zig-zag rack with brazed ends that were meant to hold rows of cassette tapes in thier jewel boxes during the 80's adn early 90's. 12" long and prolly holds 18 tools.
$1 per rack. While it has a little higher elbow bends , it's the exact width of pliers and far far cheaper and redily available then the specialized rack.

Need shorter, a whiz wheel can cut it down to make it a simple v-rack .

Just a thought when perusing flea markets and looking for a bargain.

I just added the pliers rack... Paid normal price I guess the larger was $19.99 I think... Wasn't sure at first but now that it's in its amazing how much space you save. And super easy to grab/replace/etc. For $10 in the link above it's a no brainer.
