Why doesn’t Stedlin make 1/4 “ NPT “Hi-Flo” couplers?

Answer:
The answer is technical, but basically comes down to the fact that we believe it would be an inappropriate use of a plug style originally designed for use in safety couplers only.(CEJN-320)
It would be potentially hazardous if used in non-safety couplers. We are fully aware that many other companies are selling non safety HiFlo couplers anyway. We choose not to.
We are not currently offering “safety couplers” because we developed and sell the “QuietPlug” and “QuietHose” fittings to make non-safety couplers much safer to use.
Our easy to connect and disconnect couplers are non-restrictive and support high flow rates using standard “M style plugs.”
For even higher flow requirements, we offer our proprietary “Full Flow” plugs with a 6.1 millimeter bore, which allows for higher flow than a 3/8” hose is designed for but is much easier to connect and disconnect than common “Hi-Flo” couplers.
I’m addition, our “Full Flow” plug is compatible with common (standard?) “Hi-Flo” couplers.
