I need a new air hammer for suspension jobs and I started off with buying a ph3050b (since it was on sale) for a infinity g35 front lower ball joint. I went for 10 mins and the ball joint wouldn't move. Then my coworker said use the boss' cp717. Same thing, no movement. I prepared myself for this job a week prior by researching and comparing air hammers/ riveters. I bought a used but great condition Atlas copco rrh10p on eBay which had higher specs than the ph3050b and CP 717. I used it and same thing. I was very disappointed. My other CO worker came to see what was up and grabbed a ball pein hammer, placed it on the underside of the ball joint, then took a 3lb sledge and gave it 5 swings. It popped out. I've contacted the seller for my Atlas copco gun for a refund as I think it felt the same as the CP 717. My main plan was to buy a rrh12p or 14p but I couldn't find any. I am now looking at a rebuilt desoutter 9x CP4447-RUTAB. Is this the MOST POWERFUL gun in its class (pistol grip .498 shank)?

Another thing, I know some will say a 9x is way overpowered for automotive use but it is what I see I'll be using the most for stubborn suspension jobs at my shop.

I understand I should've used the press kit to do this job but there are other situations where I choose the air hammer.

If you're going to insist on the wrong tool for the job why not go all the way and get a rivet buster or an air chipper.
