I need a air riveter of the type like Taylor T-7891N or Chicago Pneumatic CP9882
to install 3/16" rivets in a medium duty commercial application.

I know nothing about riveter guns but have worn out several Jonesway JAT6034 guns.

I don't have $800 for a commercial grade gun at this time. Any one have suggestions for a decent quality tool in the $200 or so price range?

Look for a used Cherry Max gun on eBay be a few hundred . They are used in the aerospace industry I have used them for to production type riveting from 1/8 to 1/4 alum or.steel rivets. Check to.see what head you need to pull your style of rivet.

Used there are going to be a ton of industrial options.

Mountain air, makes a pretty nice one. A&P friend of mine bought one as he needed it right then right now. Seemed nice for a little over $100. :dunno:

Ok great, I will try the PR14. I found one delivered via Ebay for $78.

Part of problem with the other guns I was using is that the pressure had to be turned up to 105-110PSI to fully set the rivet. The PR14 working pressure is 90-120 so that suggests to me it is a better tool than ones rated for only 90psi.

Thanks for the suggestions.
