Just wondering if it works well or if it can cause any damage to the tie rod. I'm guessing if you hold on there too much, then yes. It's only like 20 bucks, so I just want to know if you guys have used it at all and what your thoughts are. I figure if it does work decently, I can just leave it in my box for those times another tech leaves the valves open on the tanks for the torch and we have to go a couple of days with no torch lol

I have used a flat hammer head style chisel to knock em loose, but its a last resort. I havent caused any damage with it, but like you said Im sure it's possible. I spray some penetrating and rap on the nut for a second or 2 and they usually will spin loose

Thanks for an alternate version of the tool :)

I wouldn't use it to remove a tie rod, like you said, that's not the right tool. It would be just to break the jam nut loose when needed. But it wouldn't be an every day use tool, just thought it might come in handy on those rare weeks that someone messes up on ordering tanks for the torch, or someone gets careless and leaves a tank open all day. Just seeing if anyone has used it in order to verify if it does work.
Thanks for the input so far though.
