I've been doing some weekend stuff for the misses building a greenhouse compound. So venturing into some of the accessories, and she comes home with the Scrunchy Hose you see on T.V.

Scale of 1 to 10 (10 being best): Rating 1

I rate this product a 1, because there isn't a zero. The cheap plastic connecting ends are so thin and brittle, that one drop or mishap, this thing is rubbish. It doesn't screw on to the bibb well and has already sprung a leak. This is only after 2 weeks after purchase. It really doesn't accept a standard hose washer either, so after 2 minutes of working with this trash, I toss aside. I'm really suprised that any company can even make plastic this cheap, esp. for a hose end application - even impressive by china standards. There maybe 1usd worth of actually cost in this product and aweful gimmicky.

So, if your wife falls victim and wants one, save your time. If you have seen the commercial and want one & get one - I have no help for you.

Avoid this hose, as their are plenty of other things to put in your pocket besides a garden hose, like the 20$ you just blew.

Saw an employee at Home Depot using one. Looks like a long hair tie. All those tv products are **** in my opinion. I told my wife I wanted one of those "pocket chairs" they were selling a while back. I thought It would be funny to take it with me when I get dragged shopping. That way I can have a seat. Saw one on clearance for five bucks and bought it. Got it home its easily 8 inches tall and four inches wide. I can't fit it in my pocket. Talk about false advertisement.

My g.f. bought the Dap Xhose version in 50ft length worked good on the grass just for watering plants.

About 3 weeks later and the 2nd time I used it on our freshly paved driveway to wash our cars the hose sprung a pinhole leak from being dragged across the pavement then exploded like a water balloon.

She emailed a picture of the Xhose to Dap customer service
instead of replacing it, 3 days later a check arrived refunding the cost and shipping for the hose.

AT FIRST I loved the 'scrunchy" hose, but I had to disconnect when I had my house painted. When I reconnected I found I had a major leak where the hose inserts into the plastic piece and see no way to repair. Money down the sewer on this product--need to find another light weight 50 foot hose. Not happy.

I loved the concept, and it worked great, but lasted same as your GF, hole in 3 weeks and in the trash! I wouldn't buy another one.

My wife and bought two of these and after a about 10 uses they are still working great, however, I have been thinking that they seem too good to last long!

I think its good for the boat. Doesn't scuff it up. Otherwise its less than mediocre. The fabric tends to rip at the ends or where there is a lot of movement. I'll give it a 6.

My wife came home with one. Its best feature is that it is very compact when not filled with water.

The problem comes when you fill it up with water. It lasted a couple of days. On day 3 it had sprung a few pinhole leaks, but the real problem came when I was using it to mix up a batch of mortar and the hose failed at the male/nozzle connector and exploded.

I'd liken the whole thing as being like a water balloon with a mildly protective sleeve of nylon. If you just have one for use on grass or for potted plants I'm sure it would last longer. If you have rocks or rose bushes, or plan on leaving the water with static pressure inside, forget about it.

I never buy those tv commercial things. My brother gave me a car dash cell phone dock once, it had the same backing as that one product the guy who beats up crack addled prostitutes sells. It worked ok for a while... but then it broke.

Got to be honest, I was not sure what to expect when clicking on the thread title :D

1 out of 10 you say? Gee, that good? :lol_hitti

My neighbor had something similar to that, same concept and material except it was larger and stored on a reel type of device. He was setting it out to the curb, saw me and walked it over. I was really excited, thought of all the endless possibilities I could do with it. Tried it out, the next week it was sitting at my curb. :lol_hitti

I think the rubber garden hose has peaked in terms of advancement, there is nothing that can be done to improve it. Lets stop wasting effort and move onto something else.
