Anyone try one of these Pocket Hoses that shrivel up when they aren't in use.

I'm figuring they're Harriett Homeowner junk, but my my hose bib is at the front porch and my lovely wife doesn't like rolling up a regular hose.

If they really work it would make marriage easier. :lol_hitti

I bought one at Wal*Mart a month, or so ago, against my better judgment... and Internet reviews. It's not getting good reviews, but I figured..."What the heck?"

So far, it's been working fine. I like it's weight and it does handle a lot easier than the other hoses that I've had hanging on the garage wall.

It is cheap, and that's not translated inexpensive. The quality could be better; and from what I've heard there are better quality of these type of hoses you can buy. I wouldn't let my kids use it too often, they could have destroyed it in 15 seconds flat. But, they're all grown and gone... so I figure I'm safe. I wouldn't lay it down on a cement driveway and drive over it. Heck, I wouldn't throw it down at all.

I'm satisfied with it; I'll continue to use it. I'm contemplating buying another one; that X-hose looks pretty good... I like brass fittings.

Wife bought me one too! Kinda flimsy, seems like the special features are odd without being useful, but so far it works and the ends haven't broken off yet.
The thing is made to stiffen and expand as water pressure arrives, which can be both entertaining and annoying.
Yesterday I turned the thing on with its snout in a watering can...as it came up to pressure, it stiffened and slowly withdrew from the can. It rose up a bit like an annoyed cobra, started to oscillate (neatly watering that entire part of my weed patch,) then finally settled on pointing in one direction. By this point, my dogs were creeping up to identify and kill this obviously animate and evil new thing, but it suddenly gave up its steady position and swung on the dogs, routing them.
At that point I had to turn it off and stomp on it to show that it was DEAD, as the soggy dogs were regrouping for a revenge attack that would surely have ended its career!

We bought a pair of them at Home Depot. One of them split at the hose bib connection within the first week and was exchanged with no trouble. The second one split at the nozzle a week after that. I'm going to take of them back. The concept is great and the hose expands/retracts as advertised but they just aren't durable enough.

We've bought a couple of them. They are cheesy like some have said. But they do have their utility. I have finally convinced the wife that they are not at all tolerant of tugging on either end like she does with a regular hose. With that limitation in mind they are great for watering her plants.

I keep an empty flower pot under the faucet and let it recoil back into the pot after each use.

Some day someone will use this spark of an idea and make one that is more robust.

My mom bought 2 50ft hoses (xhose) and has used them daily for the past ~two months. She hated the craftsman rubber hoses I got her because they were too heavy for her and she couldn't pull a 100ft hose around the house (justified reason) so I got 100ft of the cman hose and she got the lighter xhose and all are happy.

I actually got to use this hose and had it hooked up to the pressure washer while cleaning their deck and was impressed that it kept up the whole time

Btw the hose isn't as perfect as it looks on tv, there are some extra bunches of fabric and the only thing that scares me is "dragging" it along pavement/concrete... Seems like the fabric will snag or wear over time.

It works just fine, but I wouldn't go flailing it around or yanking it across the yard where a rock or brick edge could cut into it. Treat it like what it is, a light duty hose for light duty watering, and you should be fine.

Should be good for entertaining the kids as well.
