You need to sped $250 for free shipping. I just ordered a set of talon pliers and had to add on another item to quality for the free shipping.
Good to know, thanks.

I swear it used to be free shipping with no minimums. I distinctly remember buying online that little shim tool used to remove the drawer slide catches on a SO tool chest, it was like $2 and shipped free. I remember because I was surprised.

It was free shipping, no minimum. It changed maybe a couple of years ago. Now their shipping prices are outrageous.

I guess I was ahead of my time; I forged this little pry bar about 15 years ago from an old Allen wrench, 5/16” I think. About 5“ overall length, been handy over the years. The roughness is from the forging that I didn’t bother to clean up. Was finished on the belt sander. I don’t have a brightly colored handle though! 94C58CE2-432F-4AD7-8D82-90AE8C3B59DC.jpegFF9AE8E2-4D97-4162-9CF9-C235ACB07EF0.jpeg

yeah it used to be free shipping, before I bought a 1/4"-20 thread restorer for around $6 and they shipped it free Fedex. lol, they probably paid more for the shipping then I paid them.

$13 surprises me actually. I figured they'd be $31.

I was surprised it's "only" $13 also. SO doesn't sell too many things with a single digit price tag, so I was also expecting more $. But I guess they want to keep the price similar to MACs.

I looked at the Mac version online and like it better. For those without tool truck access, maybe Wilde will come out with one in about 5 years :)

I probably should have clarified.....
It seems color rather than usefulness is a major contributing factor to some tool purchases.

You don't color code your tools for easy identification?

Got my curved one still waiting on the straight. Very beefy, the handle is the same as the orange pocket screwdriver. A little bigger than my Amazon special.IMG_20220209_171225760.jpgIMG_20220209_171238641.jpgIMG_20220209_171250982.jpgIMG_20220209_171720892.jpg
Good to see the shank size difference between the 2. How much was the knock off? People will still scoff at them.

I wanna say it was like 2 for 10 bucks. I've had it maybe a year and have not broken it but I don't think I'll ever have to warranty the snap on. When I had them both in my hand I figured a size comparison would be nice for the people complaining about 13 bucks for one.

Sure its obviously useful... but there are myriad things like it.. notably a similar size flat head that would serve.

I've drank a fair bit of the kool aid... maybe I need some more lol.

Honestly as 2 of my most used tools I didn't understand it either until I got one, now I can't live without it. While the driver is EXTREMELY handy I did break the tips a fair amount, with the prybars I haven't broken a tip in maybe over a year. When I'm doing something I know is probably not a good idea for the driver I grab this and save myself.

There's a zillion different little pry bars out there, and ways to pry things as bought or modified just none with a screwdriver handle marketed as 'pocket pry bar'. I have no doubt everybody's prying needs would be met just fine if these didn't exist. They are a handy new take.

This is the version that I have sold to a number of tool dealers over the last couple of years. Now that Snap-on has come out with their own version I need to branch out in my sales efforts. These prybars are an improvement over most of the pocket prybars that I have seen on Amazon and eBay. These have a 1/8" square shank that is thicker than the others that I have seen with the exception of the Mac version.

I hope to have my dedicated website up in the next week or so. www.pocketprybars.com

For the time being I have a couple of direct ordering links set up to where you can order a 4 pack of green or red prybars for $14.95 shipped. (USA shipping only)

4 pack of RED pocket prybars

4 pack of GREEN pocket prybars

I have been and continue to offer these for sale on my promotional products website in quantities of 50 or more with a custom imprint available. Two Guys Laser Engraving and Promotional Products

You can email me with any questions at [email protected]

Heat treatment, and probably material choice, are different on a real pry bar and on a slotted screwdriver. A prybar needs some ductility; a slotted screwdriver doesn't, it just needs to be very hard. That's why some screwdrivers say "not to be used as a pry bar"- they don't want you to end up with a piece of it in your eye.

Eh I dunno.. screwdrivers are all over the board.

The donor I used was impressive. A hacksaw cut it but it took some doing. The bend was done on a hydro press. No way in hell it will matter with that little pry bar... its tiny and the shank is beefy.

I too like the square shank.

Dude.... you won't stop, so I will after this. Do a file test on the tip on a slotted screwdriver and then a pry bar. They will be vastly different.

A quality pry bar will be made from ~4140 and ~RC30 to preserve ductility. Even a decent quality screwdriver will be made of some CrVMo alloy and the tip will be >RC50. Why not just use a needle file? You can pry with it. What could go wrong?

Whatever:rolleyes: You seem to know what every driver in the universe is made of. Never said the two were the same. I think bending the thing in a press is a good indication it won't break for the *ridiculous* application we are talking about. A needle file would.. but you got that figured out.
