Pocket sized adjustable wrench

Are there any good pocket wrenches out there? That can fit into very tight places and not deform when used?

Craftsman makes one. As does a lot of the western forge rebrands. Has a wide jaw opens nearly as wide as a 6 inch. Nice wrench, a little small to handle comfortably but it serves a purpose and I usually carry mine with me around the mill.

I carry a 6" Knipex Pliers Wrench (KNIPEX 86 03 150) in the leg pocket of my Carhartts. Use them constantly. They are worth every penny.

I had this kit, but didn't need the mini-cobras or pouch, so sold them.

A few months ago, I was able to get a 4" Crescent USA adjustable on amazon for around $5. Only the black industrial finished versions are guaranteed made in USA, while the alloy and plated versions are a **** shoot. Most likely Taiwan. Besides that one, I also own Plomb, Williams and Proto 4" adjustables. For my man hands, 4" is the smallest practical wrench available. In fact, I'm not sure they make smaller ones.

^ In response to Sam's post above, I was going to say there are usually all kinds of them listed on Ebay, but if they were made by a US company whose name you might recognize they usually go for upwards of $20-$30.

Most of them get bid up to crazy prices.... somebody paid about $54 for a little Indestro about a week ago. That little Diamond looks like a deal by comparison.

I have a 4" Irega that I've grown quite fond of. It opens just a tad wider than the other small adjustable I have and grips pretty tight.

Adjustables are one of those funny things, the largest and smallest seem to command a premium. I haven't seen as many 4" adjustables vs all other sizes in my garage sale/flea market searches. I've passed on a number because they were bent, which seems common bc they're so small. I have a Snap-On/Blue Point 4" made by Diamond, and a JP Danielson 4" Bet'r Grip with a 5/16 broached hanging hole. I also have a Napa 4" that is WF-made and has a head the size of a 6" adjustable.

I've actually used these clench wrenches quite a bit. They work well if you use them properly. It's no Knipex Pliers Wrench, but still convenient.

If you only have a 3" I wouldn't be calling it king! Anyway... I have a crescent 4" I've been carrying in my pocket for as long as I can remember, I've used it a ton and it does its job. Plus you can mess with it while waiting in line.

Define "used." I have one of these and feel it's more than stout enough for things you would use it on. It's smooth in adjustment, comfortable in hand, and easily disappears in your pocket.

I wasn't paying any attention to that "Skil" model - I was more focused on the oldies that kid's got listed. I picked up a couple gems from him a week ago - apparently he was assigned the task of clearing out Grandpa's basement, and this is week #2.

I carry a 6" Craftsman (Western Forge) adjustable in my pocket every day for work. Seems to do the job for the most part. More leverage than a 4" adjustable, and still not to big to for the pocket. It paired with a pair of CeeTee 8" pliers has got the job done in a pinch several times.

I have one of those little Diamalloys hanging off a spring clip on my 'lectric bag, don't use it a lot but it's much better than carrying 4-5 small DOEs or combos. It's well worth it to take apart any well-used adjustable and clean/lube it and replace the spring if you can, then file the mushroomed sides of jaws flat.

An option to consider is the 4" size vise grip. I especially like the needle nose version, though it is a bit longer than the regular. If you have big pockets, there's the 6" size for a big upgrade in range.

I use the small ones (with the large openings) for working on plumbing fixtures. Not a lot of torque required...just a large opening that'll work in tight spots. Great when you have to replace or clean faucet cartridges .

I have a 4" Irega which is really nice and a 4" Gedore which is average. I mostly use 8" adjustable wrenches. Found a 4" Bahco at the boot sale in the year, that was nice to.
That little pipe wrench is nice.

Someone makes an 8 will fit a torch and they work on lp gas nuts. Even on smaller hardware, really tight 9/16 and even 1/2 it has a lot of power. Proto was lame to the game for the jaw on a 12, it is good just needed to open a fuzz wider. The Apex generic does this in 8 and 12, there was no advantage in 6 and 10 for it.
My neighbor picked one up off the bench, it has a worn finish and says, that is a super fine wrench as he was fiddling with it. Was about the cheapest one and bought them from the flea or on sale thru ATD on super sale and well under 20 for 4. The 6 have been lost but the 8 take a beating.
It seems I can do the things I need to do with it and most stuff the little one can do and its easier to handle and has so much more power that I slide right past the little one and probably havnt used one but a handful of times and not since I can remember.
