Are there any LED pod lights that will be happy with the higher temps that a functioning fire place alcove will see? My backup plan is a couple of halogens, but the LED's would get used a lot more since they **** less watts.

Thanks,

I'm not entirely sure. This is a new installation, the stove isn't installed yet. If I had to guess 150-175F. Would a remote driver set up work or do the emitters themselves not like the heat as well?

I've got LED strip lights around my mantle. There's about a foot from the actual fireplace hole to the LEDs and mantle. Whatever heat they get doesn't seem to bother them.

Thanks for sharing. This is what we're working towards. I'd think, though I don't know, that the lights in the alcove would be subject to more heat than the LED strips in your picture.

For the love of everything that is good, please do not put your TV that high.
Agreed, I see too much of that. I wanted an 85" TV at a comfortable viewing height. While I'd like a fireplace. I chose not to install one.

I recently saw a drop down bracket to lower the TV from a docked location above the fireplace to a viewing position in front of the fireplace.
It's not for me.
How would you be able to look at the fireplace while the wife watches the Hallmark Channel? Wait---that's nap time. Nevermind.
