Anyone use a pod to store your stuff while you finish the garage? I am tired of walking around/moving everything out of my way while I try to finish drywalling and painting. I also want to epoxy the floor and do it all in one shot.

I found a few by googling but they seem pretty pricey. Between drop-off, 1 month of rent and pick-up it will cost a little over $300. Is this what others have paid?

That's the price I'm getting as well. I was wanting to rent one for the same exact reasons. It's taking a while to get the wife to buy into it though.

I've looked into it a couple times, that's about the same price I encountered for a month rental. I was all set to do it last year after my mom died until I found out the transportations costs from NY to GA! I'm still considering it for finishing my garage now that it's full of her stuff.

I used two to move. A bit pricey but you are paying for the convenience of them bringing a storage building to you rather than you make umpteen trips in the truck to the local storage place.

Best decision I ever made because we had to be out of our old house and the new one wasn't done yet. I just set the PODS on the lot and locked them up good.

I would have had to rent a storage place and then a UHAUL truck twice which would have cost about the same as what I paid for the PODS.

Thanks for the replies!! Looks like I am going to just **** it up and pay for it. I think I will be happy in the end.

When I moved I had a 20' shipping container dropped off at the new house for $65/month with no dropoff or pickup fees. I had to be out of the old house before the new one was built and not everything could go into the basement of the new place.

They are much more secure than a pod too.

Try mayflower.com After reading some of the other posts I looked them up and they were $40 cheaper than pods. As far as the others you may not have any luck since we're pretty close. I haven't had much luck at least.

A steel container will also end up costing you a new driveway if you have blacktop. Pods are light in comparison.

After many calls today I decided to go with a storage facility called "Public Storage". They have a deal where one month is 1.00 plus a 19.00 admin fee. After that it's 125 a month but you don't have to sign a contract so you can only do the one month if you want. Only thing that ***** is you have to go back and forth with stuff. But it beats $200+
