I just bought a set of pre-configured Ubiquiti Nanos for my shop internet solution. In the shop I am going to use a TP-Link AC1200 Wireless modem for shop coverage. The AC1200 has a "Access Point" mode in the set up software. Would there be any other modem set for this to broadcast wireless?

Set-up: House- DSL MODEM to Nano (Access Point) (via CAT5 w/POE) ------Shop - Nano (Station) ----AC1200Modem in AP mode (via CAT5 with POE)

What does your home network look like? Do you already have a router connected to your dsl modem? A more typical setup would be: dsl modem — home router — nano … nano — shop router in ap mode (or access point).

I'm not sure I understand the Station term, as Unifi uses the term Wireless Uplink for an AP connecting upstream wirelessly.
Here is Unifi's guide on wireless uplink config: https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/115002262328-UniFi-UAP-Configuring-Wireless-Uplink

I don't think you need the AC1200 at all, because the second Nano can be a wirelessly uplinked access point. It just needs a PoE injector.
One Nano is configured as "Access Point" the receiving end in the shop is configured as "Station". Unifi is a different set up.

Chief,
Looks (from the article ‘shoes linked) like you have it backwards: the home nano should be the base station and the shop should be access point. Enable the wireless uplink features on the nanos and you should be good to go. Cool that they can be set up this way!

"Access Point" is the direct connect to the Modem and the receiver is "Station" in the OS. The Station config unit is a client to the AP. The article is the new equipment and uses airpod-like APs on the far end. I am using a wireless modem on that end -as- a AP.
