I have been buying up some of the Craftsman Professional screwdrivers at the fire sale before Sears.com crashes and burns. Friday night, I had an ad in my Yahoo email that the 4 piece Craftsman Professional hook & pick set was on sale for $21.99. I opened this page http://www.sears.com/craftsman-4-pc-hook-and-pick-set/p-00947077000P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2 and, for some reason, I looked at the "Frequently Bought Together" items further down the page.........this is what I saw for $14.64!:headscrat:scared:

You can't add the item to your cart, so, I tried to call and order them. The rep tripped all over herself trying to get explain why I can't order them that price. Clearly a mistake! A case manager called me this morning and offered me a small gift card to make me go away!:rocker:

Anyone else wanna have a little fun at Sears expense this morning? They WILL NOT SELL YOU those sockets for $14...............

You missed the thread on this in the hot deals section.

It was a third party seller who was sending out a hanson tap instead of the kit. The part number was incorrect with the picture and description. One guy ordered three "sets" and got three taps. The company wouldn't acknowledge their mistake and their policy is that the buyer pays for return shipping (with tracking and insurance included), and only refunds the purchase cost of the product. You also can't cancel orders once you've placed them. Only return after you get it.

However, when a bunch of people jumped on and ordered it, Sears/ the third party merchant somehow managed to cancel all the orders and take the product off (despite the company's policy).

The third party merchant has thousands of stories similar to the one above. Things like having pictures/descriptions for entire kits, and sending out only part of the set, or a completely different item. You have to double check the part number for each of their products matches the picture/description. Many of the horror stories were with large items too that the buyer would loose half their refund to because it would cost $100-$200 to ship back.

Despite getting my ordered canceled (thankfully, I didn't want $3 tap for $24), I still reported them to the FCC. Poor business practices, terrible customer service, and a history of ripping off customers.
