A customer I have done work for in the past purchased a new four seater razor and wanted me to build a roof for it. He explained he might add a roof rack some time in the future so I decided to use 1/8 aluminum(5052) as some breaking would be required.
He gave me full freedom of design and I went to work designing card board templates. I decided to make it a two piece roof as he would need to remove the front portion for dune trips. I also offered to install a 36" LED light bar requiring light electrical work.
The aluminum pieces where cut to match the templates and then angles where broke on the brake. All radius cuts done with a jig saw and hand filed all edges to a radius finish. The Dzus clips mount to the roll cage at the bolted joints so no hot work was done on the rig. All clips milled with slots for full adjustment. He will have the aluminum panels vinyl wrapped to mach the machine.
