Pole barn ceiling?

Just had my 30' x 50' pole barn erected. I have 10' ceilings with sissor trusses. Wondering what would be good to finish the ceiling off? Trusses are 4' on center. I have 50 2'x4' 4 tube lay-lights (used) for a drop ceiling that I got from a job site. I was thinking of installing a drop ceiling with isulation above it and useing them for lighting. What do you think?

Good looking shop. Wish I had done the overhangs on the roof.

As for the ceiling, don't do corrugated steel. I did that, and wouldn't do it again. What will the shop be used for? Drywall for fire protection, and creating a good solid air flow seal?

Just curious what your reasons are against steel on the interior? I've got white painted pole barn steel on both the walls and the ceiling in my 30x40 general use shop. I'm quite happy with it, looks good and been durable.

The 2 far bays will be for car storage. and the front to bays will be for working on them. A 2 post lift is getting moved from my old house.

How much ceiling were your trusses engineered to carry?

I would vote for steel siding also,

I have it on my inside walls and ceiling, it has been there for 12 years and I could not be happier. It gets a little dusty once in a while so move the equipment out and spray it down with a hose. I would think that would be hard to do with drywall without damage.

If you place cross bracing between the studs you can mount just about anything you want on the walls, It is lighter in weight than 1/2 in drywall, it is already painted and usually carries a 20-25 year guarantee on the paint, if you use a light color it is very easy to get good lighting, you can blow insulation on top of it or insulate it same as drywall, in my opinion it is a whole lot faster and easier to install than drywall, and it takes no taping or painting after it is hung, once installed, it is done.

I would still use the lights you have, just hang them with lightweight chain.

I am wondering why Haugy says not to install it?
