Has anyone converted a sliding door to a overhead door? How difficult? My door is about 9 foot wide and I have 10 foot high ceilings.

Nothing to it, assuming that you have an adequate header. Just install, or have installed the overhead door, then remove the sliding door (assuming the slider is on the outside). If the slider is on the inside, reverse the procedure!!

You need to frame at least a one foot wall above where the door is going because garage doors need at least one foot of clearance above the door. If you want to use an opener you need at least another 4 inches. Doors are available 9 high with a low headroom track but an opener won't work in that case.
