Pole Barn Easy Question

I had a pole barn built with a radiant barrier installed between steel siding and roof trusses. Now I want to install foam board insulation to the purlins on the inside of the building.

Will this cause condensation issues? Live in Ks & only heat the bldg a few times/month with pellet stove, only warm enough to be comfortable. Thanks!

Yes it will cause condensation on the outside of the tin, but that is ok as it'll run off. It will not cause condensation on the inside unless you have the building perfectly airtight then you'll need an HRV (HRV due to Kansas winters vice ERV).

Any worry about condensation between the foam board and the wall? I'm trying to figure out if a vapor barrier is needed... Like the OP, my intent is to place up against the purlins... and then cover with oak.

Not sure if this is exactly what @peetroe had in mind, but quick pic of my little proof of concept below, incase it helps spark thoughts.

Electric will be corrected, of course. Leaves a 1.5" air gap between the poly-iso and the foil insulation

Bkg- your slightly different temp zone but based on your photo I would say the 1.5in foam and air gap will be sufficient.

I can answer the OP because I have the similar setup that I've been measuring before I enclose the walls with drywall and ceiling with tin. The exterior walls are wet from condensation every morning but the interior is dry and humidity is under 50% with dehumidifier.
