Hello Everyone,
I have an inquiry about garage insulation I would like to ask for opinions from the folks here. I recently made a move from Colorado to Oregon, and as you may guess, Oregon is a LOT wetter than Colorado is. I have a 36 x 36 pole garage with NO insulation. it is basically a pole barn with lap siding for the walls. It also has 3 bay garage doors that don't seal well. I am planning on have those replaced in the future. I have attach a couple of pictures so you can get an idea of what I'm talking about. It has 2x6 cross beams that the siding attaches to. I'm trying to figure out the best way to insulate this building.
It probably should have had a blanket insulation installed when it was built, but obviously nothing was ever done.
I am thinking something like a 4 x 8 sheet of insulating sheathing (available at most home centers) that I can cut and fit between the 2x6's and adhere with adhesive.
Would something like this work or should I look at doing something else?
My plan is to insulate the building well but keep the moisture out. Boxes, books and other items don't like to be soggy and damp!!
Appricate any guidance on this.
