Pole Barn Help

Good Evening. First time posting in a long while. I have problem. I built a pole barn about 6 years ago and was limited on funds and was given an 8x8 overhead door. I set the posts at 8' apart for the door and it worked but I need a bigger door now. I want to install a 10x10 door. The door is in a side wall that has a double 2x12 header. One on the inside of the post and one on the outside of the post. The corner posts are 6x6 and line posts are 4x6. The ceiling is 12' feet high. My problem is that I need to remove a post and the way the header boards are staggered I am at a joint in the headers. What is the best way to deal with this? Thanks for the help.

Heres a couple of off the cuff thoughts-

-Could you sister another 2/12 to split the joint?

-What about having a piece of metal bent to resemble a angle iron only larger?

I would like to replace the jointed headers with a longer header that spans to posts beyond the posts for the door but not sure about the weight. Thought maybe I could pull the inside header off and replace it with truss resting on outside header. Once it was complete I could then repeat the process for outside header. The bad thing with that is removing the metal facia and all from the outside. I realize I have to remove the tin anyway to cut out for the new door but trying to minimize the labor lol. Another thing I thought of doing was just adding another 2x12 directly below the existing header on the inside and outside. I would then install the new post and attach bottom header to it and then cut out old post just below new header. Original headers where the joint was would be supported by the full length header underneath and I should still have room for the door. Make Sense?

The truss are 4' on center with metal roofing and the bottom truss cord(ceiling) is finished with 7/16" OSB

Yeah, if I understand what your saying. You would install the new posts and headers before removing the old one - should work. You should be sure the new headers are fully supporting the load, even shim as needed. You can leave the old posts above and attach them to the new header too.
