Talk to the guys at carter lumber-(616) 784-3460, 7474 Alpine Avenue Northwest, Comstock Park, MI 49321 or Standale lumber (616) 530-8200, 2971 Franklin Avenue Southwest, Grandville, MI 49418. they may be able to give you the names of some builders.
Not sure how far north of gr you are but i belive big L lumber out of sheridan/greenville area may be able to help.

Morton buildings is a great company. They built my 54X90 pole building. The shell was up & done in 6 working days. Love the quality of it. Very nice workers & building. They might not be the cheapest but it's quality workmanship and materials.

Vanderwerff and May builders, Dieterman construction, both reputable and in the Sparta area but I'm sure they would have a wide service area.

X2 40'X42' Expensive but worth it. Their reputation and warranty sold me.

Ditto on Morton, more expensive but worth it in my opinion. I put up a 30x48 and the sales guy acted as my general contractor for the cement and electrical at no charge, which was awesome because I lived 180 miles away at the time.

Just to expand a bit. My FIL used Morton Buildings in Three Rivers. He was VERY happy with them. He built the original portion (36x40) and then added and additional 60' a few years later.

Finally started on my barn today. It will be a 30x40x13'6". 3 10x10 insulated doors, two insulated 3x3' windows. Going to have a 20x30 cement approach, in front of the two front doors. All steel with wainscot. Charcoal on bottom, grey on top, and black steel roof, white eaves and accents.

The eave side of the barn will be facing the drive, two 10x10s will be towards the left of the barn with 3 foot spacing, then there will be another 10x10 on one gable end that will be part of my turn around driveway. Plans are to put a hoist in one bay, im thinking the middle bay on the eave side to maximize work room around hoist, but open to opinions.

Dieterman Construction. Extremely pleased thus far! Morton never called me back, carter lumber never called me back, had one more quote from a independent builder but It was quite a bit more, Midwest pole barns got right back to me, but they are extremely busy and not any cheaper.

I used an Amish builder for mine in west mich and have been pleased. Mine was a delton pole barn kit that I designed. Im a bit late to the thread but yours looks nice and cant wait to see the finished product.

i like your colors also, similar to mine.

I love me some michigan! Im in s/w allegan county.

Sorry for the delay, here are some updated pics. I will take some good ones once doors are on and I clean up mess.

And by mess I talking about cleaning steel, and wipe splashed concrete off sides, Dieterman has been extremely good at picking up after themselves

Very nice! I would love to have something like this. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you have invested in the project up to this point? Also, what are your plans for finishing off the interior?

Big doors will be on this week, ill have 27000 into, interior will be unfinshed and no electrical. I plan on having consumers run seperate service underground from the pole, and hopefully be able to insulate and hang steel inside myself this winter.

Where you located? I'm 4 miles East of Rockford. Cannon Twp.

So what are you thinking for finishing the inside walls and ceiling?

On mine I ran the electrical on top of one of the purlins and came out to each post with the outlet boxes. Then cut and stapled Tyvek to the insides of the purlins and posts. Then 2 x 6 studded walls between the posts with kraft faced R-19 fiberglass batts then 7/16" OSB on the walls covering the posts. For the ceiling I put up the white metal Dura Panels from Menards.

Interiors gonna be awhile, electrical is next, then hoist, then interior. But got other projects that need done around the house first, landscaping, driveway, gutters, deck. Im in sand lake. Your barn looks beautiful.

Driveway and electric are next, have a few questions about electrical. Can I post in this thread or should I start new in electric sub section?

Cody,

I see you have a drain in the floor, I am building the same barn in Grandville and wonder where your drain goes and if anyone gave you a hard time about it?
