pole barn kits

Hi everybody,
i am new to this site and posting on here so please excuse me if i am not doing this right. going to be putting up a 30x40 building and would like to build it ,just wondering if anyone has done a kit and where it was purchased thanks! looking forward to hearing from anyone!

Welcome. I am also having a 30x40 built but I went with a company that delivers and assembles the building. Other guys here can give advice on do it yourself kits but from what I have read it's usually cheaper to figure out what you need and buy the materials seperately. Where you're located makes a difference as well so post your location. Just to give you something to consider I am in Tennessee and I went through National Barn Company. Mine is going to be 30x40x12. They are pretty much nationwide with a few exceptions and mine is costing me $11,600 delivered AND assembled on my slab. That includes a few extras and they offer a discount for veterans.

Looking at the same size building and found a place called DIYpolebarns.com, there prices include delivery and have tons of options to choose from. They also offer a preffered builder list for your area if you decide to not do it your self. I was planning on getting poles set and roof finished then Ill do the rest myself since I dont really have any help.

Welcome, I would suggest that you repost in the general garage section as not all wander into the introductions section. Tat said I bought a 'kit' and we assembled it. Lost a lot of time and didn't save much. Think hard about your skills, helpers, and equipment you may need to hire.

^^^^^^^^^^^ This.. is why I'm letting them build it. I actually think that if I had to hire help, rent equipment, etc. it would end up costing me more. The guys they use do this for a living every day and will likely be in and out in a matter of 3-5 days from start to finish.

Thanks for the replies everybody. I am in the western new york area. I will definitely post in the section recommended. I was thinking about having the posts and trusses set and then taking it from there. Just trying to save money. Thanks again for all the good information.
