Pole Barn Lean to Beam

Hello. I have a 40x60 pole barn with a open lean to. I'm planning on putting a ceiling on the lean to to keep birds and such out. I have a 10" beam that runs the length of the lean to and looking for ideas on how to go about wrapping it in steel. I need to cover the gap between beams as it would just allow birds to get up in there. I've never done any steel work before and thought I'd give it a shot. I've attached a photo. Appreciate any ideas ya'll have to offer.

1) J trim at the top of the 10" beam will allow you to put sheet metal panels up and make the install clean like the rest of the barn. Whatever color you make the ceiling should be the same as the J trim. Might have to put a 2X4 or 6 flat side down on top of the to attach J trim.

8' 6" Galvanized Steel J-Trim

The J-trim is used as closure and trim along the top edge of a sidewall and around door and window openings. It's manufactured from premium steel coil.

2) a fascia panel to wrap underneath and then cover the 10" beam.

12' White Steel L-8 Fascia

L-8 fascia is used on 8-inch wide material. It's used in conjunction with hem trim and J-trim for around overhead door openings on post frame buildings.

3) ceiling panels will need to run 90 degrees compared to your roof, same sheet material as the roof. It's all pre-painted so you'll never have any maintenance on any of it and once it's up it's DONE. Might want to rent a drywall lift for the panels if doing by yourself.

From the bird **** evidence, that beam looks like the least of your problems.
You might think about adding a ceiling joist in between each rafter and putting tin on it. Then you'd only have to close up the bottom of the beam. (If the beam is built the way I'm thinking)
Large cow barns use a netting stapled to the bottom of the trusses. I've got no experience with this as to its recommended spanning requirements or sources. Any local farm building guys or suppliers around you?
Edit; boy I really read this one too quickly. Anyway, unless you want to cover up the beam simply closing the bottom of the beam with a 1x would accomplish this.
