Pole barn over stick built slab

I hoped to be farther along than this by now, but winter has been brutal. I am tearing down a dilapidated (sp?) 30x30 stick built garage and planning a 36x54x12 pole barn almost in the same location. I have a skid steer with breaker hammer and plan to break up the pad, but am wondering if I can leave the footers in place. I plan to move one new wall 2 feet "inside" of the existing garage wall. I really don't want to remove footers if I don't have too. I plan to raise the existing grade 4-6 inches with well compacted clean fill and sand.
The plan is to eventually cover the area outside the pole barn where the footer will remain with a lean to and concrete. I plan to put radiant heat in floor and pour at least a 5" pad with an area thicker for future lift.

If you are going to bury it there is no reason to take it out.
I would rent a hole digger for thar skidsteer.

Last building permit I pulled (demo permit) specified that I had to remove the footings also.

The longevity of the pole style construction requires proper drainage at the bottom of the pole. Footers may interfere with that.

If the footers are near the pole locations, then they probably need to get pulled. Might be simpler to shift the building over 10 feet so you minimize the issue.

Really up to your local inspector though.

Just make sure you compact the back-fill for the removed footers.

u may have a frost heave issue with the footer (especially if its floating type). this may give u a problem at the point where it goes under the new wall and floor. cut out about 8" of it prior it coming under the new building and leave it under outside grade and floor.

Thanks for the input guys. Inspections and permits are not an issue here. Last permit I got for house addition I asked for code requirements and inspection and they laughed at me. Lady said "we just want to know who's building for taxes".
I really can't move sighting of building. Frost heave is my main concern. I think I will bust slab and see how things go from there.
