I hoped to be farther along than this by now, but winter has been brutal.
I am tearing down a dilapidated (sp?) 30x30 stick built garage and planning a 36x54x12 pole barn almost in the same location. I have a skid steer with breaker hammer and plan to break up the pad, but am wondering if I can leave the footers in place. I plan to move one new wall 2 feet "inside" of the existing garage wall. I really don't want to remove footers if I don't have too. I plan to raise the existing grade 4-6 inches with well compacted clean fill and sand.
The plan is to eventually cover the area outside the pole barn where the footer will remain with a lean to and concrete. I plan to put radiant heat in floor and pour at least a 5" pad with an area thicker for future lift.
Thanks,
George
