Pole barn plans

I am planning on putting up a pole barn this spring. It will be in a rural setting in Nebraska (hot and cold). It will likely be a 40x60 with 14' ft walls. The building will only have a condensation blanket under the roof. The building will be used to store a pontoon boat, tractor and assorted stuff (neighbors camper). Maybe the occasional car. There will be 16x12 garage door in the main part of the building.

I plan on putting a 20x20 insulated shop inside. This will have a utility sink as well as a toilet and small sink in a bathroom. I will one day put a window a/c unit in the shop area exhausting into the main building to keep the look of the outside of the building clean.

One wall of the shop will have two 4x8 doors I hope to just make out of the framed wall with one side plywood and the other sheetrocked like the inside of the shop. Wondering if this will work. Maybe a small wheel/caster on the bottom of each.

The air compressor will go outside the shop with copper bringing air into several locations in the shop and maybe one on the outside of the building itself.

There will be a 6x20 overhang over the walk-in door and one of the windows.

Curious what any of you have always said you would do in your next shop or garage as well as your thoughts on what I have done so far.

Fairly new to the site, but I have learned alot.

Thanks for you comments.

It would be better with nine foot wide doors and be able to drive straight in. Trailers are 8.6 feet wide. You only have sixteen feet long of usable with walls and bench. With the AC you do not want to add moisture inside the building. You should have good roof vents to create good air flow. Once you have a shop there are a lot of things that you will want to get in it.

Having the a/c inside won't be a problem as long as the rest of the shop's not insulated...it's common practice in many warehouses and industrial shops where the offices have been built inside the building.

I really queston having just 20' of shop space. Maybe you don't PLAN on putting anything larger in there, but what if your pick-up dies in January and you need to get it into a warm place for repairs?

24' would be my absolute minimum.
