Long story long- I'm building a pole barn. I can build just about anything mechanically, but know ZERO about residential construction. Never exposed to it, not that I can't figure out a dozen ways that would be fine but it's almost certain I'm not doing something the common, easy, or right way. I'm laying out my interior stairs, framing, and loft so I can get the plumbing locations correct as I prep for concrete.
Is there a better way to frame in these stairs? Specifically the landing after the first rise. I don't like isolating that space under the bottom row, but don't know if it's kosher to leave the middle open, etc. I just threw this together based on something I saw online for a home.
