My 40x50 is under construction. All poles are 36" deep with dirt backfill. They hit rock on all holes but three. One of the 3 poles has settled approx. 1.5". They went ahead and put the trusses on, but you can see the cross braces leaning down where they intersect this pole. I haven't poured my slab yet. What is the remedy?

Well I would think the remedy would be on the threewherethey did not hit rock they should put a concrete "cookie" in the ottom of the hole or place a few bags of Sackrete mix as a base in the bottom of the hole. What doles the building codes require and what did the inspector say about the situation?

Inspector only required they go 2' deep, and the inspector preferred the "no concrete" method.

It sounds like they did not compact any of the holes. The three that did not have rocks are sinking first. They will probably sink more. The others will sink to varying degrees based on how many rocks were left in the hole. The point of the auger leaves a hole and it has to be filled and compacted especially where you are not pouring concrete cookies.

Do you have a reference point that you can use to check them all?
