Wouldnt be a big deal in that local due to the adjacent chicken run 
. They scratch up practically anything so it would be held in check. I could go with a multitue of stuff as its only 5 ft wide on the perimeter like storage citrus confederate jasmine cast iron firespike etc. whatever i do itll be zero maintenance.

But not to hijack the treat about plants i like cindar because of longevity ease to clean if you tile it or epoxy you can go up the walls.. that makes flooding and hurricane famage that much easier ive been theough katrina amdrew sally ivan
