Hello
New to the garage journal
Wanting to put up a 28x32 pole barn in northern AZ very rocky, can only get down to about 3 feet with auger. Also must have 24" snow load min.
Sounds like you need to go with shallow footings and a slab. At that point you may as well do stick built if you are going to add insulation and finish the inside.

Well first off, welcome to The Garage Journal! This is a great forum. Secondly, please update your location opinion your profile. Number 3, yes, if you are going go finish the inside of the uite you may as well stick build.
Mitch: how much will it cost to build your shop/garage with a standard foundation and stick built compared to a pole building? or i've seen some machines do amazing jobs cutting rock if you are set on a pole buildings that might be costly, but i'd probably go with stick built and regular foundation. if you can afford metal framing even better.
welcome to the group and post up pictures of your land or building spot if you own it and want more comments might be helpful.
i've heard that you don't need a permit to build a 20x20 garage shop in some parts of northern Arizona and not sure if that's a possiblity for you to save some money cause i saw a member build one himself for under $5,000. not sure what the rules are for building more than one on your property, but might be another thing to look at.
Can I respectively suggest you put your location in your profile, being a global forum it really helps our members assimilate as you post in other threads.
