Hey Guys-

When I build my horse barn in the next few months I'm debating on setting a post for the other side of the dutch doors in my stalls vs scabbing on to the wall girts.

Could people post up some opinions and especially pictures of how you've framed openings in post frame structures?

Thanks
Josh

If you can set a post, scabbing on won't provide nearly the support you need. I set posts on both side of man doors same depth as main support posts, and you can feel the building move when they slam shut still. On the side walls I put the post all the way to the top, on the gable wall I just went to bottom of trusses
