Pole building Gable ends

The truss is on the outside of poles on gable ends of my pole building. I figure I would just add a 2x6 to the inside of poles to attach celing metal on the inside. Though I better ask before doing so. Feed back please

I attached a 2x6 to the poles then attached a 1x4 to the top of the 2x6 making a upside down L.
