Thinking of a pole building in the near future, but would like to use siding on the walls instead of metal. Has anyone done this or have any pics?
Thanks,
Shawn

Anything can be done if your throw enough money at it.

With that said, you may be better off with a stick built building if you want traditional siding, depending on size of course. One of the main advantages to the metal pole shed is that they go up really fast so they are closed in quickly, and the siding is one of the reasons for that.

I did what you are thinking of doing. I put poles on 8 foot centers. Then I put a flat treated 2x6 from pole to pole on the bottom as a bottom plate and framed on 2 foot centers with 2x6s. 6 inches of insulation between the framing. On the outside I put 7/16 OSB, 3/4 Dow foam and vinyl siding. Reason? My wife wanted the barn to match the house. It cost more than metal siding, but it does look good.

What did you do on the inside then? Drywall?
