Polished concrete vs Rust Bullet?

When my Dad bought his new house 6 years ago, we painted his garage floor his Rust Bullet before he moved in, and it is still in great shape (granted he doesn't do any mechanical work on it).
I just purchased a 4 year old house, and was also planning to paint it with Rust Bullet as well. I intend to do a lot of mechanical work in my garage and the paint is for protection against spills/stains, as well as to be able to spot dropped hardware (cosmetics are nice but secondary). I tested the floor, and it appears to be sealed with a solvent based sealant (xylene tested it) but only in some areas (maybe worn out?). I found a local firm who can remove it by grinding, they told me their process would leave the floor at ~220 grit finish, but Rust Bullet said would be too smooth ( needs a "CSP 1" surface equivalent to 100 grit?)
With that in mind, I'm wondering if I would be better off to have the concrete polished even smoother, and then treat it with a densifier and sealant instead of Rust Bullet? The sealant seems easier to apply and redo when worn out or damaged vs paint.

How about this…if your current sealer is well adhered, just clean the floor, roll out our No Prep Primer, wait 15 minutes and apply one of our epoxy or polyaspartic kits. No need to remove a well bonded coating using this method, and save lots of time, money and dirt and dust. We can barely keep the No Prep in stock!
