We have the "cotton" stuff here too. But what is really wild is the yellow pollen that comes down so thick it looks like a foggy day!

I have a ton of it here in Chicago too. The only way to get rid of it is to wait for some rain. Once the rain hits it, it won't be blowing around any more.

There is a modest storm on the horizon so I should be good for the year. I should probably blow all of it out of my garage before the storm hits.

Just take allergy pills wash your eyes out every few hours or use Eye drops. Zaditor eye drops are just amazing! For the nose get a Neti Pot.

Better yet move to a better state not much here anymore!

Eye drops Zaditor:

We have managed to survive pollen season here in GA. It lasts almost three months. Variety of **** falling. Pine pollen, oak trash, pecan trash, more oak trash, then squirrels build their nests and drop pieces of oak branches everywhere. It is good that spring got here, then the pollen starts. Have to blow off the driveway and porches almost everyday. Thankfully it is mostly done. I still have a robin attacking his reflection in my full moon hubcaps.

We left our windows open the other day (I live in Mid Michigan as well) and I came home from work to find our entire house COVERED in this yellow pollen ****. There must have been a 3 or 4mil thick coating on everything. It sucked and took me about 3 hours to clean. Needless to say the A/C has been on ever since.

The cotton floating around Michigan is from the Cottonwood trees. Neighbor had one and it was misrable to live with, sticky syrup and then the cotton flies. Dogs would track the **** in and it was a pain to remove from the cars.

Nola, so where does all your cotton go? Does it end up in clothing or some other type of product(s)?

After its baled its sold to manufactures. From there I dont know witch clothes or products exactly they use it for. But anything cotton thats sold in stores today was once in that form.

Ime gonna add some pics to the "around the farm" album on my profile of our previous cotton harvest. Feel free to check it out.
