What is the best method of removing small scratches from this type of flooring?
Is waxing a good idea and if so, what should I use?

It can help. Cherry wax is nice.

Placed the order. This stuff doesn't build up and turn yellow does it?

No. It's a good wax. Smells like cherries as bonus.
Apply a few coats, buff if you care to, but not a requirement.
