I need to install 2 pumps in my pond, about 330 ft to the power meter box. The pumps I am looking at typically draw less than 7 amps. Which is the best wiring option? One pump for a fountain on a timer. The other pump, not used daily, is activated on a float switch.( only during very heavy rain to prevent pond overflow) I was thinking of using #8 wire. I can turn off the fountain during heavy rains so only one pump will be used typically at a time.

PVC Conduit underground is a good option. A single 240V circuit may support the pumps. Once you know the total current look at the voltage drop on 660 ft of wire for different gauge.

There are plenty of online voltage drop calculators, so I'm not going to bother plugging in the numbers. Just guessing, #8 would be fine for each pump at 120 volt. At 240 volts. 10 would probably be plenty. You could probably run #4's, maybe even #6 and set a small outdoor sub panel by the pond.

This is available in 240V. Be sure to use a GFCI.
