Hi CF, another Utahn! Where ya at?
The garage is 24Wide x 45Long and 22 ft high at peak of ceiling.
Our original plans were approved by the county to be 30ft wide. But the inspection day that our footings were too be poured the inspector came out and lopped off five feet. They said because the front of the house is closer to the street than the law now allows the side has to be further from the street to compensate. We were waaaaay po'd, still are. Five more feet would have given us a lot more breathing room between ponies. (The extra foot is accounting for approximate wall thickness)
The loft in the front is 24 x 18 ft.
The pictures don't show there is a bathroom and roughed in shower in the loft too. There's also a storage closet at the top of the stairs going into the loft which houses the water heater and hides junk.
The big picture window in the back provides a lot of light, but also a view of the mountains from the loft.
One thing that was an afterthought on our plans was the sky lights. There are four with a southern exposure. I highly recommend them in any garage.
The house is 1300ft on main and same on full finished basement. So there really is more room in the main house than the photos look like.
We love all cars, corvettes, porsches, mopars, hotrods, trucks, jeeps .... whatever. But ended up with Mustangs because of family history and they were easy to obtain and cheap in the early 80's when we started.
