Pool Deck In Florida

Is there an epoxy that can be used on a pool deck? The top coat and base coats would need to be 100% UV stable as it would get a lot of sun. And as far as traction is there anti skid additives that would work to make it safe for a pool deck?

I would like to do this on my lanai (patio) and pool deck.

Thanks for any input.

Epoxy would not be a good choice for this. You want an exterior grade acrylic deck coating. It has to breathe.

Color Wheel is most used for this purpose, owned by SW now.

It has to be re-coated every several years or as needed. Color wheel has the appropriate non-skids as well. If you have a knock-down, you may not need any, I don't.

Stamped concrete around our pool was coated with a clear coat that had "shark grip" added. Seems to work well - no falls yet..

Some more information here

Resurfacing a concrete pool deck is the best option because it is not only affordable but as it is a long-lasting solution to potentially large and expensive issues. Resurfacing allows your current concrete deck to continue serving its purpose while also restoring the integrity of the slab. With a resurfacing job you can:
Mimic other surfaces
Remove blemishes
Repair cracks
Strengthen the surface
Create a durable and safe area
Enjoy your pool

Acrylic pool decking is your best bet. It's designed specifically for what you are asking for. Plenty of Mfr's out there. We use Xcel surfaces.

You can either use stamped concrete, decorative concrete, pavers or even cool deck.
Check these guys out, you might get ideas.

At our previous house, we used Sundek. It’s similar to coolcrete. Held up great for 12 years before we moved. I think we recolored once, maybe around year 9 or 10. When we redid the back deck at the new house we used the same product. It’s basically worry-free. Stress cracks can even be hidden with custom score lines.

Hey guys, not sure if you noticed, but this thread is 6 years old. Not sure the OP is still looking at this point. Still good info being shared though.
