Pool Deck Layout

Not sure if this is the best place for this thread, but you guys are awfully handy so I figured I could get some good info.

I've got a 25' round above ground pool I'd like to build a deck around. I plan on pouring some kind of footer for the posts to sit on and back filling with dirt. I considered pouring piers but that seems considerably more to expensive. I'm open to suggestions here.

How does the layout and material list look? I'm mainly curious about the size and spacing of my posts and joists. I'm not used to making these kind of prints, so please tell me what I'm missing.

Yes mine was built around a 24' round above ground

Thankfully before lumber prices skyrocketed

It was a very fun project and is rock solid

I did a full deck around our above ground, used two piers at each post with an inner and outer beam. At the entrance from the main deck I did a 10 x 16 lounge area. It's great to have the deck around the entire pool if you can.

I had one around our 24’ above ground pool. Probably about 1/2 way around. I sunk 4X4’s about every 4 feet around the perimeter. To those I bolted 2X? to act as support beams. The joists rested on the beams. The 5/4 deck boards on the joists ran just under the pool coping. It took a lot of measuring as to where the beams were placed to ensure the deck boards were placed snugly under the coping. A lot of trial and error to place a normally square object (deck) around a round pool. It turned out great. Lasted about 15 years. Rock solid until the end. The biggest problem? Wasp building nests under the deck. I tore it out last fall, I counted over 20 paper wasp nests about the size of a grapefruit. They must have been pretty docile as we probably only had 1 sting a year. Good luck with your project!
