Poor Man's Compliance Station

I know I'm no Jack Olsen, but that doesn't mean that I can't have a compliance station of my own. This is about as down and dirty as you can get but it gets the job done.

I bought the table from the scrap yard for $20. I had some black spray paint laying around and gave the table a quick paint job. I used some trex decking I had laying around for the shelf. All in all I'm pretty happy with it for a total investment of $20.

Yes, it works best if you engrave the name "Persuader" on your hammer. Then you can use it to persuade things to comply.

You guys need to go look at the 12 gauge garage built by Jack Olsen.
He has a 'Compliance Station" in one corner, wtih a vice and hammers and a thick metal top for making things COMPLY with his wishes for them.
A vice and BFH are serious garage persuasion.

Looks great buddy! Keep your eye out for an anvil to have beside it. I never knew how handy an anvil can be until I got one. Really saves the workbench tops.

I like to put a 1/8" thick piece of steel flatstock across the front lip of my workbench. I countersink and screw it down every 12" or so. Not only does this help keep things from rolling onto the floor, it also makes a small compliance surface (and, in general, keeps the edge of a wood bench from getting beat up).

Here are a couple more pictures. I used the holes that were already in the table. I enlarged one to 1" to use as a pritchel hole and the other one keeps a punch handy.

Thanks! I have a nice anvil on the other end of the shop. I also added a small piece of railroad track that I can keep on the table and move it when I need more room.

Its really sad that in this day of legalism and over regulation that the last thing anyone thinks of at a compliance station is making something comply to your will!

I dig the whole vise on the trailer hitch deal. Pretty slick.
