Popular Science is offered up on living social right now. Link

Change your order quantity to 2 and then enter promo code "MEMORIAL" which is $5 off $15.

I really enjoy reading pop science and for HF fans there is always a 2 page spread in it.

I've never used Social Living before. I did as the OP did, and rec'd vouchers to use at "Valuemags.com".

Now I'm wondering how I go about using the second voucher to extend my subscription to the 4 years? Has anyone done it?????

Go ahead to the link found in the voucher. Enter the code and your mailing information. Do this for both vouchers. Popular Science will combine the subscriptions for you to become 4 years. If the mailing info is all the same it will even add on to an existing subscription. If for some reason that doesn't happen and you get multiple copies just give PopSci a call and they will combine the two accounts into one.

Popular Science and Popular Mechanics are pretty much interchangeable. You will see some articles about new tech, or future tech that may or may not ever happen. You'll also see the gratuitous stuff they put out there to sell magazines. It's not anything you'll sink your teeth in and once you've read it, you can be pretty safe in recycling it without any real loss.

This is a change from what it was 10 years ago with projects and references you'd want to keep around. They both were great project and resource magazines. Today they are both more airline trip fodder. Just enough to keep you mildly interested, but limited to about three pages for any given story.

I chalk it up to a different audience focus.
