Hi everyone new guy here. I am learning about lots on this great site and hope to begin reclaiming my old garage soon. POR 15 has a pretty good reputation for making durable products for automotive use. Has anyone tried this product and have an opinion?

Paging FastCop!

Do a quick search on POR15 and you'll find a several experiences here. There were a couple in particular that were not very good due to specific issues with warm, wet tires. They seemed to be isolated to warmer, more humid climates. While the issues seem to be very limited, the fact that POR15 and their reps were didn't provide much, if any support, is very discouraging.

You should search POR15 in the flooring forum but here is a thread detailing some of Fastcop's experiences: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11008&highlight=POR15

It depends on the crowds you hang with if POR has a good reputation with automotive products. Some people seem to think POR was created by a higher power to save their rusty cars and others (like me) wish they would fold and go bankrupt so people would learn proper restoration techniques and the cars would actually last awhile.

Since I am very biased against them I would personally assume that their floor products would be just as bad as their auto products, a very temporary good looking fix to a problem, how long do you want your floor to last.

No offense meant to those that think POR is the greatest thing since sliced cheese, please keep using it. I just wanted the original poster that not every one thinks POR is any better than the best snake oil.

Is the POR15 for the floors a two part?

I used POR15 on some parts for my old 240Z.. I would sand blast them then paint it on.. nice powder coat like finish.. did the gas tank, and all the struts and control arms worked nice.
