I found this PEI 4 18x18 tile on craigslist for 39 cents a foot (they had it down to 29 cents for 12x12). With mortar, grout, and transition im out around 600 bones for my 2 car. Gotta say it was a lot more work than I planned, but I just did it one half at a time over a few weeks (maybe 20 hours total). Already dropped a hammer on in without a mark - this is the best floor for Texas heat. Sorry about junk, not quite done, and last pic is after snow ice dump...

It was my biggest dissapointment. Navajo brown was more like light beige - way lighter than I expected. It supposedly doesnt need sealer.

I hear you, like unbreakable combs in the 80s. I may actually darken it sometime later, so im not too worried about it right now. Im about to put up my airlock door mural, and then clear the clutter. Big thanks to dakota for the info thread...

I have used grout that "doesn't need sealer". It still gets dirty.

Epoxy and acrylic grouts actually do quite well against staining. Some of the cementitious based, not so much. My grout is down now 3 years and has had oil, antifreeze, grease, etc on it with no staining.
Cheers

Looks great!! Hell, don't fret the sealer....after it all gets some oil on it, the color will be dark and it'll all match. No one will ever know that wasn't the color you chose! Mine's well on the way, lol.

Congrats on finishing.
I'm entering year three of my large install. It's not easy. Some of my grout (acrylic) has been down for two years, and it looks like new.

Enjoy your space!

New pic after putting in my "airlock." Its still dirty, and I was a little sloppy not taking off all the grout haze just for more gription (it is a word if you know what I mean). Had an old guy come by to purchase some wheels, and he just loved it - "musta back buttered the hell outta dem sumbiches" was the first thing out of his mouth. Heck yeah it took twice as long, but man its really nice now. Much better than plastic...c474738769dbcf5814e1477a55b53ecd.jpg

You’re going to be very happy with your decision to go with porcelain. I know I am. 3 years or so on and it looks as good as when I put it down. Multiple spills, drops, and serious UV has had zero effect on it

No doubt. Great work dakota showing us all the truth! I have seen so many ugly buckeling issues with sunlight on various plastic tiles, and the painted coatings just cant take a hot tire under a heavy truck in august. Nothing comes close...

Looks great!! I’m about to do porcelain in my garage this week. What did you do about the control joints in the concrete?

No control joints in my floor, just a very thin crack I just tiled over. My prep was only a little coca cola soak on oil stains overnight followed by a few shots of greased lightning then power washed the whole space. No issues at all with my suburban pulling in and out all the time - was worried about the threshold grout but its holding strong. This is the way...
